Georgia's third most visited city, Helen, celebrates the 50th anniversary of its renaissance as the Alpine Village.

John Kollock, a local artist that had spent a good bit of time in Bavaria, with local leaders set out to re-invent Helen with gingerbread trimmed storefronts, spiral towers of old-world charm and cobblestone alleyways.

Today, the Village still evokes the look of the Alps in the Appalachians.
